By the age of ten I had ambitions of becoming a magician within the magic circle, but being so heavily influenced by the original Star Wars trilogy my interests in film and magic brought me to special effects and by sixteen I was making spoof videos in a disused quarry as an excuse to experiment with homemade pyrotechnics, prosthetics and fake blood.

The more videos I made however, the more my interest shifted again towards the filmmaking process and I was soon thinking about film school. By 1994 I had completed a National Diploma in Media Production in Harrogate and focusing solely on becoming a director, I moved swiftly on to study a three year film degree at the University of Northumbria, where I wrote produced and directed a number of short films. I then gained four years amazing experience working in the feature film industry, taking on various assisting roles, where I had the valuable opportunity to learn from a diverse range of directors, including George Lucas, Tim Burton and Robert Altman.

In 2004 I completed a Master of Arts in fiction direction at the prestigious National Film and Television School, graduating with a hugely successful short film called The Happiness Thief. Since then I have been developing a slate of digital feature length projects through my production company Delfilm Digital, as well as directing shorts for the BBC and Screen South. My first feature film Missing came about through the development of another project called Blackout that reached the final in the Moxie Makers - The Big Pitch scheme. Missing is hoped to go into production in Spring 2010.
